Contact & About Me🐯

My name is Linda, and I live in the county of Derbyshire, originally born in Lincolnshire but grew up in Essex. I have had an interest in history ever since I was very young. This led to me becoming interested in my own family history and I started researching my family over 25 years ago. My research has enabled me to get both my maternal and paternal lines to the 16th century.

However, as my interest deepened, I decided to ensure I was researching all the
available documents, to undertake the correspondence course with The Institute of
Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS), I successfully completed the course in 2015.
The course enabled me to improve my skills and knowledge base in research and
broaden my understanding therefore undertaking more complex research.

Following a lengthy career in the NHS, I took early retirement which enabled me to
complete the IHGS course on time and indulge in my passion.

Over time, I began to support family and friends to research their own family history, which has led to undertaking private commissions. I also enjoy researching and returning old postcards, photographs and documents to families and recently had some personal successes.

Which I will be sharing on my blog page. I am an Associate member of AGRA (The Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives). I sit on the committee of my local Family History Society in Chesterfield, (CADFHS), and I belong to the Lincolnshire FHS my area of interest.

However, my interest has now extended into other domains, both significant to my
maternal and paternal lines.
